Bend Curling Club is confidently moving toward creating a curling-only facility in Central Oregon. Our club was recently featured in an OPB story (click to read) about our journey to creating a curling-only facility in Central Oregon. We envision a facility where people from all over Oregon, the Pacific Northwest, the US and other countries can come together to learn, participate and compete in the greatest ice sport in the world- curling! In order to achieve this dream, we are currently raising the funds necessary to lease a building, renovate it into a curling rink and begin our operations. We have estimated the cost to get us into a building is $1.2-1.5 million.
We are in the process of transitioning from a pledge campaign (initially done to help us determine how much people can financially give to this project) to a secure online donation platform. We are currently at $735,000 in pledged donations, and have been actively looking for a building to lease in the Bend/Redmond area. Your opportunity to donate to this amazing project will soon be ready, and we will make sure to give you advance notice of the date it becomes operable.
This is an example of the type of facility we would like to create.

We’re excited about moving forward with this project because it will enable Bend Curling Club to provide:
- High-quality curling-exclusive ice with consistent conditions where stones will curl both ways on every sheet (and no negative ice!).
- More ice time and leagues all-week long on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.
- New and expanded programming including doubles, women’s events, and wheelchair/adaptive curling.
- More curling opportunities for youth including youth, juniors, school curling clubs, and college curling clubs.
- A venue to host events including regional bonspiels, national tournaments, and community gatherings.
- More educational opportunities such as Learn to Curls, skills clinics, and new curler instruction leagues.
- Greater community partnerships with local businesses, nonprofit organizations and schools.
- Practice time for curlers to improve their abilities and become more competitive.
- A dedicated social space to foster community and ‘broomstack’ (gather for a social beverage) before and after games.
We aim to open a facility that can accommodate at least 4 sheets of curling ice (like bowling lanes). It will also include a ‘warm room & bar’ for spectators to watch curling and for teams to socialize with their opponents, and locker rooms for members to use. Here are our 501(c)3 bylaws, identifying BCC as a non-profit organization.
We look forward to the day we begin operations in this new facility, and hope you can help us realize that day!
